Darwin is available across all 50 states in the U.S. and can be downloaded on iOS and Android. We work with insurance intermediaries (also known as Pharmacy Benefit Managers) to cover over 90% of insurance policies in the U.S., including those by Anthem, United Health, Kaiser, Cigna etc.

Is Darwin a replacement for medical advice?
Darwin is not a replacement for expert medical advice and you should always consult with your healthcare provider. In fact, you will need a valid prescription from your healthcare provider to take advantage of our coupons and discount cards at the pharmacy counter.

Why is my health insurance policy so complicated?
We know right!
It is ridiculous that patients have no idea how much they have to pay for their medications at the point-of-prescription. Physicians often feel just as helpless because there are literally thousands of insurance plans out there and the out-of-pocket cost is unique to each patient. This is complicated by the fact that there are many players in our healthcare system with misaligned incentives, including insurance companies, insurance intermediaries (also known as Pharmacy Benefit Managers), pharmacies and drug manufacturers.
It is nearly impossible to navigate through the complex healthcare system in the U.S. and we don’t expect anyone to go through hundreds of pages of their health insurance policy.
This is why we build Darwin - to improve price transparency for prescription drugs and to empower you to make the smartest decisions on drug purchases.
What is the difference between Darwin and GoodRx?
GoodRx is a price comparison tool that shows you the price of drugs if you don’t go through your insurance and helps you find coupons for these drugs. GoodRx is great for the uninsured - unfortunately, it doesn’t work for most Americans who use insurance to buy drugs.
Darwin is built for patients with health insurance.
